SYMPTOMS

When you use the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in to add members to a group, you may receive the following error message if you select a different domain in the object picker:
No Objects are available in this location. Select another location.

CAUSE

This error message can occur if you select a global group to modify its membership list, and then select a different domain from which to add members in the object picker. Global groups can contain members only from the domain in which the global group resides.

RESOLUTION

To add members from one domain to a group that resides in a different domain, you must use a domain local group or a universal group. A universal group is available only in Native-mode domains.
