When you are attempting to bring additional Instant Messaging contacts into a conversation, you may receive the following dialog box:
The contact IM contact Display Name alias@company.com could not be invited because this conversation has the maximum number of participants allowed.
CAUSE
When you use Instant Messaging, you can only have a maximum of five participants within a conversation, which includes the one that is initiating the conversation.
WORKAROUND
You can use the Instant Messaging software development kit (SDK) to increase this limit to 32 conversation participants.
