This article was previously published under Q264206

SYMPTOMS

If you make changes to the settings in the Page Setup dialog box when you have multiple worksheets grouped, Microsoft Excel may apply your changes to the active worksheet only.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when the following conditions are true:
  • You have multiple worksheets grouped.

    -and-
  • You access the Page Setup dialog box by clicking Setup from within print preview.
When you click Setup in print preview, Microsoft Excel only applies the Page Setup dialog box settings to the actively previewed sheet.

WORKAROUND

To change settings for all grouped worksheets at once, click Page Setup on the File menu, rather than from within print preview.

MORE INFORMATION

Certain features such as Rows to repeat at top are unavailable (appear dimmed) in print preview. To use these features, close print preview, and then click Page Setup on the File menu.
