Cannot Select "Enable Digital CD Audio for this CD-ROM Device" Option (264201)

You may not be able to click to select the Enable digital CD audio for this CD-ROM device check box on the Properties tab in Device Manager.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if either of the following conditions is present:
- You have VXD-based drivers installed for your sound card.
- Your CD-ROM drive is known to have problems running sustained digital reads.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, use the appropriate method:
- Upgrade your sound card drivers to Windows Driver Model (WDM) drivers.
- Upgrade your CD-ROM to a drive that supports sustained digital reads.
