"Internet Connection Wizard Could Not Connect" Message During Signup (264010)

When you are using a version of Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 for Macintosh that was supplied by your Internet service provider (ISP) on a computer with an Apple internal modem, you may receive an "Internet Connection Wizard could not connect" error message when you attempt to use the dial-up connection that was created by Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK) version 5.
RESOLUTION
To work around this behavior:
- Run the Internet Connection Wizard.
- After you click Next on the Sign Up page, you immediately receive the Could Not Connect dialog box.
- With the Could Not Connect dialog box still open, start the Modem control panel.
- Click OK. When you receive a "Previous selection for port could not be found" message, click OK.
- Quit the Modem control panel, and save the new settings.
- Click Redial to connect.
