XCCC: Unable to Install Conferencing Management Service in a Domain with Multiple Sites (263929)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
This article was previously published under Q263929 SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to install Conferencing Management Service (CMS) on a member server in a domain that has more than one site defined, you receive the following error message:
The component "Microsoft Exchange T.120 MCU Conferencing Services" cannot be set to the action "Install" because the following
prerequisite conditions are not satisfied -
Setup is unable to access the Windows 2000 Active Directory
CAUSE
When more than one Windows 2000 site has been defined in the Active Directory Sites and Services snap-in, this error message occurs when the installation computer that is hosting the Conferencing components either does not have a valid subnet and a corresponding site associated with it or a domain controller is not installed in the defined site.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, ensure that there is a valid subnet and corresponding Windows 2000 site that matches the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the installation member server. Make sure that there is a functioning domain controller in the site.
