You can use the Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Merge program (ExMerge.exe) to extract messages based on subject line or attachment name.
However, the ExMerge program does not find any messages that have embedded messages that match the specified search criteria.

For example, if you want the ExMerge program to extract any messages that have an attachment called Test.vbs, and a message contains an embedded message that has an attachment called Test.vbs, ExMerge does not extract the message that contains the embedded message.
This is a limitation of ExMerge. The program cannot search embedded messages.
