"Synchronization Error" Error Message When You Synchronize with Active Synch (263450)

SYMPTOMS

When you synchronize a handheld device with the Active Sync software, you may receive the following error message:

Synchronization Error

CAUSE

The behavior occurs because a copy of Microsoft Windows CE 2.0 Service Pack 1, which is distributed by Hewlet Packard, installs over Active Sync.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, reinstall Active Sync 3.x, and click No when you receive the prompt to install HP Service Pack 1.
