XCCC: Forward Button Is Missing in Conference Server Confirmation Message (263264)

SYMPTOMS

When you create an online meeting by using a client other than Microsoft Outlook 2000, the client receives an e-mail message from the Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server computer that confirms or denies the reservation. However, the confirmation message may not contain a Forward button to forward the meeting Uniform Resource Locator (URL) to the meeting recipients.

WORKAROUND

Outlook 97

To work around this issue and forward the confirmation e-mail message in Outlook 97, use one of the following methods:

Right-click the confirmation e-mail message, and then on the Shortcut menu, click Forward.
-or-
Open the confirmation e-mail message, and then on the Appointment menu, click Forward.
-or-
Click the confirmation e-mail message, and then click Forward in Outlook.

Outlook 98

To work around this issue and forward the confirmation e-mail message in Outlook 98, use one of the following methods:

Right-click the confirmation e-mail message, and then on the Shortcut menu, click Forward.
-or-
Open the confirmation e-mail message, and then on the Actions menu, click Forward.
-or-
Click the confirmation e-mail message, and then click Forward in Outlook.

Outlook Web Access

To work around this issue in Outlook Web Access (OWA), use one of the following methods, as applicable:

If you use Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 and later to gain access to OWA, click the confirmation e-mail message in the Inbox, and then click Forward in OWA.
If you use Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x to gain access to OWA, you cannot forward the confirmation e-mail message. You must copy the meeting URL to a new e-mail message, or instruct the users to connect to the conferencing Web site.

MORE INFORMATION

Alternatively, you can provide information in the Notes section of the original meeting request that explains that the meeting is an online meeting and that recipients can join the meeting from the conferencing Web site. By default, the conferencing Web site is located at the following URL:

You can view a list of available conferences from the following URL:

Please note, you cannot schedule a private conference using earlier versions of Outlook and Outlook Web Access as you can with Outlook 2000. Therefore, uninvited attendees may join the conference if they know the correct URL.
