The Web/Home key does not start Internet browser (263012)

SYMPTOMS

When you press the Web/Home key on one of the keyboards listed in the "Applies To" section, a graphic may be displayed but your Internet browser is not started.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if both of the following conditions are true:
  • Netscape Communicator is configured as your default browser.
  • You uninstalled Netscape Communicator.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, select a new default browser.

To configure Microsoft Internet Explorer as your default browser:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Internet Options.
  3. On the Programs tab, click to select the Internet Explorer should check to see if it is the default browser check box.
  4. Click Apply, and then click OK.
  5. Close Control Panel.
  6. Start Internet Explorer, and then click Yes when you are prompted to use Internet Explorer as your default browser.
