CG5: Error Message: Artgalry.exe Is Linked to Missing Export MFC42.dll (262888)

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, delete, move, or rename MFC42.dll in the Windows System folder, and then reinstall Clip Gallery 5.0 to install the later version of MFC42.dll. To do so, follow these steps:

NOTE: Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.

1. Click Start, point to Find, and then click For Files or Folders.
2. In the Search for Files and Folders box, type MFC42.dll, and then click Search Now.
3. In the Search Results pane, right click MFC42.dll, and then click Rename.
4. Change the name of the file to MFC42.old.
5. Close the Search Results window.

To reinstall Publisher 2000, follow these steps using either Disc 1 or Disc 2 of the Office 2000 or the Publisher 2000 stand-alone CD-ROM:

1. Close all programs that are open.
2. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
3. In Control Panel, double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
4. In the Add/Remove Programs Properties dialog box, click your Microsoft Office 2000 installation, and then click Add/Remove.
5. In the Microsoft Office 2000 Maintenance Mode dialog box, click Repair Office.
6. In the Reinstall/Repair Microsoft Office 2000 dialog box, click to select Repair errors in my Office installation, and then click Finish.
7. When the Office Repair is finished, you may be prompted to restart Windows. If you are, click Yes and let Windows restart.
