SUMMARY

In Microsoft PowerPoint 2000, you have ability to play sound or video throughout the duration of a presentation.

To turn on this functionality, follow these steps:
  1. In PowerPoint 2000, open a slide presentation.
  2. On the first slide of the presentation, point to Movies and Sounds on the Insert menu, and then click Sound from File.
  3. Select the sound file that you want and click OK.

Notice that the sound clip has been inserted into the slide.
  4. Right-click the sound clip, and then click Custom Animation.
  5. On the Multimedia Settings tab, click Play using animation order.
  6. In the While playing section, click Continue slide show.
  7. In the Stop playing section, click After x slides, where x is the number of slides that will continue to play the associated sound file.
  8. Click OK to save the settings.
  9. Using your mouse pointer, drag and drop the sound file to the right of the first slide (into the gray area beside the slide) so that the sound-file image is not visible on the presentation.
