XCCC: High Or Custom Security Settings Can Prohibit Participant from Joining Online Conference (262776)

When you attempt to join an online conference, you may receive the following error message:
An ActiveX control on this page is not safe.
Your current security settings prohibit running unsafe controls on this page. As a result, this page may not display as intended.
NOTE:
The number of error messages you receive is equal to the amount of Conference Technology Providers such as data audio/video, and so forth, associated with the conference.
After you clear the error message dialog box, you receive the following Web page error messages:
Video Conferencing Frame
An audio/video connection to the Exchange Conferencing Server could not be automatically established. Verify that your browser security settings permit the download of ActiveX controls.
Data Conferencing FrameJoin Instructions
The Conferencing Server can not automatically join you to this conference. You will need to manually connect your conferencing client, such as Microsoft NetMeeting.
Please try the following:
- Conferencing Server: Server Name
- Conference ID: 00000
- Password: password
where:
- Server Name is the name of your conferencing server
- 00000 is a randomly generated numeric number
and - password is the conference password
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the security setting in Microsoft Internet Explorer is either set too high or because you altered certain custom settings.
RESOLUTION
In order to participate in an online conference, make sure that the following settings are enabled and configured in your browser as shown below in the "More Information" section of this article.
STATUS
This behavior is by design based on the Internet Explorer browser security settings.
