Extra-Strength Partition-It Recovery Disk Does Not Work in Windows Me (262672)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to install Extra-Strength Partition-It from Windows Millennium Edition (Me), you may receive the following error message:
This program might not run as expected on this version of Windows. To continue, click Run Program. To exit, click Cancel. For more information, click details.
If you click Details, the following message appears:
Partition-It Extra Strength was developed to run on Windows 3.1 and Windows 95. For additional product information contact Symantec at http://www.service.symantec.com
Or, after you upgrade to Windows Me with Extra-Strength Partition-It previously installed, when you use the Recovery Disk made with Extra-Strength Partition-It in the previous version of Windows, the system does not boot from the disk and you receive the following error message(s):
Partition-It information is absent. The process cannot be continued. Press any key to reboot.
When you boot from a Recovery Disk created with Extra-Strength Partition-It in Windows Me, you receive the following error messages:
The following file is missing or corrupted: A:\IFSHELP.SYS
The following file is missing or corrupted: A:\SYSTEM\VMM32.VXD
Type the name of the Windows loader (e.g., C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\VMM32.VXD

CAUSE

The compatibility message behavior is by design.
