OL2000: "Locate Link Browser" Message When You Click a MailTo Link (262496)

SYMPTOMS
When you configure Outlook to be your default e-mail client, and then you click a MailTo link on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows 98, you may
experience a long delay, and then you may receive the following message:
Locate Link Browser
When you click Cancel, a new Outlook message opens.
CAUSE
The "Open" setting for the URL:MailTo protocol is configured to use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE).
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, click to clear the Use DDE check box:
To Deselect DDE- Double-click My Computer.
- On the View menu, click Folder Options.
- On the File Types tab, click URL:MailTo Protocol in the Registered File Types list, and then click Edit.
- In the Actions box, click open, and then click Edit.
- Click to clear the Use DDE check box, and then click OK
- Click Close, and then click Close.
