SUMMARY

Microsoft Chat Software Development Kit (SDK) does not support double-byte character set (DBCS) systems.

MORE INFORMATION

You cannot properly view DBCS Chat messages by using Microsoft Chat on a Microsoft Exchange server. The Chat client may receive a DBCS message, but the message is likely to be garbled and unrecognizable.

The Chat SDK does not provide support for DBCS characters. The SDK itself was designed strictly for English-only systems and will probably not run properly on non-English systems.

Microsoft Chat SDK is no longer a Microsoft supported product. Although the SDK may be included with some Microsoft products (such as Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5), all development on the Chat SDK has stopped.
