SUMMARY

The AppleTalk network protocol is included in Windows 2000 Professional for connectivity to shared AppleTalk network printers. After you install the AppleTalk protocol, an additional print monitor named AppleTalk Printing Device is available when you add a new printer port. A list of all the available printers on the AppleTalk network is displayed.

You cannot use the AppleTalk protocol in Windows 2000 Professional to share folders or printers for Macintosh clients. This feature is available with Services for Macintosh in Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Server or Microsoft Windows 2000 Server.
