XCON: Dynamic RAS Connector No Longer Supported in Exchange 2000 Server (262163)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
This article was previously published under Q262163 SYMPTOMS
If you use the Remote Access Service (RAS) X.400 Connector in Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5, after you upgrade to Exchange 2000 Server the connector is no longer available.
CAUSE
There is no support for the Dynamic RAS Connector in Exchange 2000. Exchange 2000 does not include a RAS X.400 service transport stack or a RAS X.400 Connector, and the Exchange 2000 message transfer agent (MTA) no longer supports the Dynamic RAS Connector. If a RAS X.400 Connector is present, it is removed during an upgrade from Exchange Server 5.5 to Exchange 2000.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, use Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) or Microsoft Windows 2000 Routing and Remote Access (RRAS).
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.
