IPSec Filter Action Option Does Not Preserve Changes (262079)

SYMPTOMS

When you manage the filter actions in the IP Security (IPSec) snap-in, the Accept unsecured communication, but always respond using IPsec option is not preserved when you change from Negotiate to Permit or Block.

RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, confirm all changes you make to filter actions in any Security properties. After you make the changes, enable or disable the Accept unsecured communication, but always respond using IPsec option as necessary.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000.
