Error Message: The Driver or Network Connection that the Shortcut "Target.lnk" Refers to Is Unavailable (261818)

When you use a computer that is running Windows 95 or Windows 98 to gain access to a documents folder on a remote computer that is running Windows Millennium Edition (Me), a Target.lnk shortcut may appear in the folder.
If you double-click Target, you may receive the following error message:
The driver or network connection that the shortcut 'target.lnk' refers to is unavailable. Make sure that the disk is properly inserted or the network resource is available, and then try again. CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you use a computer that is running Windows 95/98 to connect to the Shared Documents folder on the My Documents share on a remote computer that is running Windows Me.
RESOLUTION
To work around this behavior, access the contents of the Shared Documents folder from the Documents share on the remote computer that is running Windows Me.

When you run the Home Networking Wizard and select to share both the My Documents and My Shared Documents folders, two shared folders called My Documents and Documents are created on the computer that is running Windows Me.
If you use a computer that is running Windows 95 or Windows 98 to browse to a remote computer that is running Windows Me, both shared resources are available. If you connect to the My Documents folder, the Shared Documents folder is displayed in the My Documents folder. Windows Me makes the Shared Documents folder available to remote computers as Documents when you select to share the My Shared Documents folder. When you connect to the Documents share, you do not see the Target.lnk file. If you connect to the Shared Documents folder in the My Documents share, the Target.lnk shortcut is displayed.
