SYMPTOMS

When you remove Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me) from your computer, and then reinstall Microsoft Windows 98, the Sound.wav file that is included with Windows Me remains on your computer, and plays when you start your computer.

STATUS

This behavior is by design. It informs the user that Windows Me had been previously installed on that particular computer.
