Screen Saver Option Size Does Not Work in "My Pictures" Preview (261755)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition
This article was previously published under Q261755 SYMPTOMS
The image in the My Pictures Screen Saver preview and the actual screen saver image are not the same size. This preview is seen in the monitor above the My Pictures Screen Saver drop-down box, on the Screen Saver tab, in the Display properties
CAUSE
Scaling small images to a larger size distorts them and usually makes them unattractive. Windows Millennium Edition has a separate option in the My Pictures Screen Saver settings to Stretch Small Pictures. The sample.jpg that is included by default in the My Pictures folder, for example, is a small picture.
WORKAROUND
If you want a small picture to match, you need to use the My Pictures Screen Saver setting to Stretch Small Pictures. To do so, follow these steps:
- Right-click on a blank area of the desktop, and then click Properties.
- Click the Screen Saver tab.
- Select the My Pictures Screen Saver in the Screen Saver list box, and then click Settings.
- Click to select the setting Stretch Small Pictures, and then click OK.
The preview in the monitor on the Screen Saver tab and the actual screen saver size of small pictures will now match.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
