Philips 675 or 680 Cameras Cannot Capture a Still Picture When Using the WIA Device Driver (261405)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition
This article was previously published under Q261405 SYMPTOMS
When you are using the Philips 675 or 680 camera, if you click the button on the camera to take a picture, it does not show up in the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) namespace.
WORKAROUND
You can capture a still image in the WIA namespace, or the Philips program by clicking the mouse button in the appropriate area, but pressing the red button does nothing in either case.
MORE INFORMATION
The WIA namespace is the name that the Explorer shell user interface is called in a folder that allows you to interact with the camera when Web View is enabled.
Philips has a proprietary interface that requires you to push the hardware button on the camera to capture a still pin, and take a picture with the camera. You cannot capture a still picture with the Windows Millennium (Me) Inbox WIA device driver, or with the Philips program.
