SUMMARY

This article discusses some of the symptoms that you may encounter if you run any of the Microsoft ActiMates software titles listed at the beginning of this article on a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer.

MORE INFORMATION

The operating system requirements for the ActiMates software titles listed at the beginning of this article are:

Microsoft Windows 95 or later or Windows NT Workstation version 4.0 or later with Service Pack 3.

Because Windows 2000 qualifies as a later operating system, ActiMates software titles should run on Windows 2000-based computers. However, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:
  • The program may run very slowly.
  • Sounds in the program may stutter or be played repeatedly.
  • Your computer may seem to stop responding if the ActiMates character's batteries need to be replaced.
After you upgrade to Windows 2000, ActiMates software titles may run more slowly than they did under the previous version of Microsoft Windows.

To ensure optimal performance of your ActiMates character, install the latest drivers for your sound card and your video adapter, and use only newly purchased or newly recharged batteries. If your computer seems to stop responding (hang), follow these steps to restart the computer:
  1. Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Close Program dialog box.
  2. Click Shut Down.
  3. Click Restart, and then click OK.
NOTE: The computer may take up to five minutes to restart.
