When you work with a SQL Server 2000 database from within the Visual InterDev 6.0 database design tools, you cannot create or modify tables, views, or database diagrams.
If Visual Studio Service Pack 4 is installed, you will receive the following error message when you try to create or modify tables, views, or database diagrams:
This version of the database design tools is not compatible with SQL Server 2000, so you cannot save changes from this tool to the SQL Server 2000 database. To modify a SQL Server 2000 database, use the SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Manager.
If Visual Studio Service Pack 3 or earlier is installed, there will be no context menu items available from within the database design tool for you to use to create or modify tables, views, or database diagrams.

The Visual InterDev 6.0 database design tools are not compatible with SQL Server 2000. You must use the SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Manager to make modifications to the database.
