A handle count leak in the Regsvc.exe service may occur on a Windows 2000-based computer while the computer is being remotely monitored by more than one instance of Sysmon.

WORKAROUND
To prevent this issue from occurring, monitor performance counters locally from the console rather than remotely.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 2.
