You may want to disable commas as address separators so that you can type the name of a recipient in the address field in the "last name, first name" format.

To disable commas as address separators:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. On the Preferences tab, click E-mail Options.
  3. Click Advance E-mail Options.
  4. In the When sending a message box, click to clear the Allow comma as address separator check box.
