This article was previously published under Q260846 SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to view the AdSamples site that is included in Site Server 3.0, Commerce Edition, the following error message may appear in the browser where the advertisement should be:
AdServer was unable to load the advertising schedule. See the application event log for details.
Examination of the Application Log file reveals the following:
EventID: 1
Source MSAdServer
Description: An error occurred while reading the advertising schedule from the database:
[Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers][Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server
Driver][SQL Server]Invalid object name 'as_constants'.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if the Ad Server database is corrupted.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, do the following: - Create a new database in SQL Server.
- In the ODBC Manager, create a DSN to the new database.
- Reinstall Site Server 3.0, Commerce Edition (Disk 2), and select the new DSN when you are prompted to select a DSN for Ad Server.
MORE INFORMATION
Because data is added to this database during the setup of Commerce Server, you may need to reinstall Site Server Commerce (Disk 2) to allow the setup program to write the sample data to the Ad Server Database. SQL scripts to populate the database for the Commerce Sample sites are included with the Site Server, Commerce Edition installation; however, Ad Samples site data SQL scripts are not included in the installation.
