PI2000 Err Msg: Picture It! Cannot Load the Preview Picture (260845)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to open a picture in Microsoft Picture It! 2000, you may receive the following error message:
Picture It! cannot load the preview picture.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the graphic filter files are damaged.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, uninstall Picture It! 2000, rename the following graphic filter files, and then reinstall Picture It! 2000:

  • Bmpimp32.flt
  • Fpx32.flt
  • Gifimp32.flt
  • Jpegim32.flt
  • Pcximp32.flt
  • Png32.flt
  • Tgaimp32.flt
  • Tiffim32.flt

To uninstall Picture It! 2000:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  3. Click Microsoft Picture It! 2000, and then click Add/Remove.
  4. Click Next, and then click Remove.
  5. Click Finish.
For information about how to rename the Graphic Filter files, click Start, click Help, click the Index tab, type renaming files, and then click Display.

NOTE: Rename the .flt file extension to .old.
