The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
This article was previously published under Q260794 SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Exchange 2000, after you create a full text index and populate it, errors similar to the following are reported in the gather logs (.gthr):
File:\\.\BackOfficeStorage\Test.Testing.com\Mywebtlh\Testweb\Test%20files\Filename.xml
Add URL is excluded by the server (Testing.txt, no-index attribute on the URL, search folder), or redirected to an excluded URL.
MORE INFORMATION
The following information is about the preceding error message:
The Test Files directory with the Filename.xml file is created by Microsoft Word when a user saves a file called Testfiles.htm in a home directory named Testweb. This is part of a Microsoft Office feature that allows a group of files that belong together to create a Web page to be displayed as only one file. This process may be referred to as a "thicket".
The directory that holds this one thicket file is hidden, but you can see it by going to http://home directory name in Network Places. This functionality enables you to browse the files and Web directories just like a file server.
During the population process of an Exchange full text index, not all items in this hidden thicket directory are indexed.
If you see an error similar to this in your gather logs, you can safely ignore it.
