XCCC: Error Message When Scheduling Conference in Exchange Mixed Site (260789)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5

This article was previously published under Q260789

SYMPTOMS

In a mixed site that is running Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server, an Exchange Server 5.5 user who schedules a conference may receive the following error message:
Please select an Exchange conferencing mailbox as the resource. The information store could not be opened.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if there is a one-way user connection agreement and the mailbox object replicates to the Active Directory through a different user connection agreement and overwrites the Exchange 2000 Distinguished Name (DN) in the Active Directory with the Exchange 5.5 DN.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, delete the one-way user connection agreement. Use the Active Directory Connector Manager to configure a two-way recipient connection agreement between the Exchange 5.5 Recipients container and the Windows 2000 Users tree in the Active Directory.

STATUS

This issue is by design.
