- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
This article was previously published under Q260762 SYMPTOMS
When you remove a newsgroup, the public folder associated with the newsgroup may not be deleted.
CAUSE
NNTP deletes the public folder during store shutdown, or at a time interval determined by the Maintenance Interval setting in the properties of the Public Folder Store.
RESOLUTION
To have the public folder deleted sooner, change the setting of the Maintenance Interval in the properties of the Public Folder Store to
a shorter interval. To make these changes, follow these steps:
- Start Exchange System Manager.
- Expand Administrative Groups, and then expand the appropriate administrative group.
- Expand Servers, and then expand the appropriate server name.
- Expand the appropriate storage group.
- Right-click Public Folder Store, and then click Properties.
- On the Database tab, from the Maintenance Interval list box, select Use custom schedule.
- Click Customize, and then choose the maintenance interval schedule that you would like to use.
