Windows Media Services Fails When You Use Site Server Authentication (260713)

SYMPTOMS

When you use Site Server 3.0 authentication with Windows Media Services, the Nsum.exe file may fail.

CAUSE

The Site Server Msapssps.dll file has not been updated.

RESOLUTION

Install Site Server 3.0 Service Pack 3. Service Pack 3 replaces the Msapssps.dll file with version 7.0.1277.0.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Windows Media Services version 4.0, 4.1.
