Shortcut Is Not Created When Using the Send to Command (260618)

SYMPTOMS

When you want to create a shortcut in Internet Explorer 5.5, if you right-click an item, point to Send to, and then click Desktop, a shortcut to the item is not created on the desktop.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install the Windows Desktop Update.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, right-click the item and click Copy. Then, right-click on the desktop area and click Paste shortcut.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Internet Explorer version 5.5 for Windows 95.
