SYMPTOMS

When you use mount points with Services for Macintosh (SFM), you may experience one of the following behaviors:
  • Security settings are ignored when a mount point is shared as a Macintosh volume.
  • Security settings are ignored when you place a mount point in a shared Macintosh volume.
  • You receive disk error messages when you move or delete files stored in a mount point. If you use a Macintosh computer, you may also receive the following error message when you attempt to access a reparse point subfolder within a Macintosh accessible volume:
You cannot move [filename] to the folder [folder], because a disk error occurred.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, do not use mount points with SFM. Mount the drives or partitions with drive letters, and then share them as Macintosh volumes.
