SUMMARY

When you use Setup Manager to create an answer file to use with a Sysprep installation, only one additional option under Custom Settings for Network Settings is available.

MORE INFORMATION

If you create the answer file for Windows 2000 Professional, only the Client Services for NetWare option is available. If you create the answer file for Windows 2000 Server, only the Gateway (and Client) Services for NetWare is available. On the Setup Manager screen that allows you to choose between standard network settings or custom network settings, the Custom option is available but the only additional component you can install is the Client Services for NetWare or Gateway (and Client) Services for NetWare, as an additional client. There are no additional options for protocols or services.

This behavior is different than when you use Setup Manager to create an Unattended.txt file. When you create an Unattended.txt file, you have additional options for protocols and services.

When you create an answer file for a Sysprep installation, you do not have the option to select additional protocols or services. This behavior is by design. When you choose the client, the default components for that client are automatically installed. For example, if you choose to install the Client Services for NetWare, the default components of NWLink, NetBIOS, and NWLink IPX/SPX/NetBIOS Compatible Transport Protocol are installed.
