FIX: com.ms.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcResultSet.getBytes() Returns Invalid Data for Binary Columns (260164)

SYMPTOMS

Calls to the com.ms.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcResultSet.getBytes property may return invalid data for binary columns with size greater than 5,120 bytes.

CAUSE

This problem is due to a bug in Microsoft's Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) implementation.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

This problem was corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 1.
