When you install the Microsoft Visual C++ Processor Pack, you may receive an error message that Setup is "unable to enable the VC 6.0 Processor Pack installation." A bitmap appears and a second error message states that Service Pack 4 is not installed.
RESOLUTIONMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This bug was corrected in Visual Studio 6.0 Service Pack 5.
