This article describes the Text Only with Line Breaks file format. When you
use this format, Word saves the document as an ASCII file without
formatting, and adds ASCII return characters to the end of each line. You
must use this format to prepare document files for other programs that
require ASCII formatted files with lines of a certain maximum length.
