Posting Acceptor Does Not Work with Forms or Cookie Authentication (258740)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Posting Acceptor on a Web site that uses Site Server Membership authentication, forms or cookie authentication cannot be used.

CAUSE

Posting Acceptor does not accept or support these authentication methods.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use one of the following authentication methods:
  • Anonymous
  • Basic
  • DPA

If you cannot use one of these authentication methods, research WWW Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV) as a possible workaround or alternative for publishing content.
