WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, use any of the following methods:
- Setting the screen resolution to 640 X 480.
- Configuring the computer to run in Advanced Power Management (APM) mode rather than ACPI.
- Disabling the mode change option in the screen saver if available (not all screen savers have this option).
- Set both the monitor resolution and the screen saver program to use the same resolution, if available (not all screen savers have this option). You may be able to configure these options by using either the user interface or the registry.
NOTE: If the monitor is set to turn off after the screen saver set value (20 minutes for monitor to turn off, 15 minutes for screen saver) this problem does not occur.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
