SUMMARY

Digital Driver Signing is the encoding performed by Microsoft to verify that a driver or drivers have passed Microsoft's stringent testing for use with Windows Millennium Edition (Me.

If you install a new driver and restart the computer in Safe Mode to verify whether that driver is signed by Microsoft, the information listed for that driver in the Safe Mode Device Manager may show the device driver signing status incorrectly. It may appear that the driver is signed when it is not.

Driver Signing status is updated when you view Device Manager after starting Windows Me in normal mode.
