SideWinder 3.0: "Invalid Page Fault" Error Message When You Attempt to Remove SideWinder Software (258552)

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install version 3.02 of the SideWinder Game Controller software, and then remove the SideWinder Game Controller software:

1. Visit the following Microsoft Web site:

   http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/sidewinder/Downloads.asp

2. Under the Game Controller Software Version 3.02 section of the Web page, click the appropriate language version that you want to install.
3. Click the SideWinder Game Controller Software Web link.
4. At the bottom of the License Agreement page, click the I Accept Web link.
5. At the bottom of the SideWinder Game Controller Software 3.02 Download page, click the SWGameEN.exe Web link.
6. Click Run this program from its current location, and then click OK.
7. Follow the instructions on the screen to install version 3.02 of the SideWinder Game Controller software.

To remove the SideWinder Game Controller software:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
3. On the Install/Uninstall tab, click SideWinder Game Controller Software, and then click Add/Remove.
4. Follow the instructions on the screen to remove the SideWinder Game Controller software.
