SYMPTOMS

When you play Microsoft Baseball 2001, the game may pause for up to half a second when the following events occur:
  • You catch a high pop fly.
  • You field a ground ball.
  • You successfully initiate a power boost pitch.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because all of these events initiate the playback of an audio clip.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, turn off sounds in Baseball 2001.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Baseball 2001.

To turn off sounds in Baseball 2001:

  1. Start Baseball 2001.
  2. On the Home Plate screen, click Options.
  3. Click the Sounds tab.
  4. Move the Commentator slider to Off.
  5. Move the Crowd & Stadium slider to Off.
  6. Move the Game Sounds slider to Off.
  7. Move the Music slider to Off.
  8. Move the Button Sounds slider to Off.
  9. Click OK.
