SYMPTOMS

When you start Windows on a computer with the Genius Netscroll mouse utility installed, you may receive the following error message:
Explorer:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
If you click Details, you may see the following information:
EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in module KRNL386.EXE at address

CAUSE

The Genius Netscroll utility that is loaded in the StartUp group generates the error message.

RESOLUTION

Remove the Genius Netscroll utility from the Startup group. If the problem persists, uninstall the Mousemate 98 software by using the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel, and download the latest driver from the Genius Web site: Microsoft provides third-party contact information to help you find technical support.
