Specific PC Card Does Not Function with the WDM Audio Driver (257865)

SYMPTOMS

When you use Windows Driver Model (WDM) audio drivers on a Windows 98-based computer, a PC Card device that uses input/output (I/O) address 0x220-0x22F may not work. When this occurs, I/O address 0x220-0x22F may not be listed for use in Device Manager.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

To work around this problem, manually change the setting from I/O address 0x220-0x22F to another range if possible.
