SYMPTOMS

You are experiencing a loss of Microsoft Windows resources in your Visual Basic 6.0 application. You have TextBox or ComboBox controls on a form, and the IMEMode (the Input Method Editor Mode) property of those controls is set to a value greater than zero (0).

The problem occurs only on Far Eastern versions of Windows.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This bug was corrected in the latest service pack for Visual Studio 6.0.
