TPU: Error Message with Manual Approval of Workspace Creation (257602)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to manually approve the creation of a Team Workspace using the Team Productivity Update (TPU) Management Console, the following error message may be displayed:
Error

A TeamSpace with this name already exists on the specified server. Please choose a different name.
In addition, the user requesting the Team Workspace may receive multiple e-mail message notifications. Of these notification messages, one may be a notification that the workspace creation request was approved, and another may be a notification that the workspace creation was unsuccessful.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if the auto-approval service (TWSApproval) is started, and you attempt to manually approve the creation of a Team Workspace.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, do not manually approve requests for the creation of a Team Workspace if the TWSApproval service is started. If you need to manually approve requests, stop the TWSApproval service and make sure it does not start automatically at startup.
