SYMPTOMS

In Word 2000, when you run the Russian grammar checker that is included with Office 2000, you receive an error message similar to the following:
An application error has occurred and an error log is being generated. WINWORD.exe Exception: Access violation(0xc000005), Address: 0x77f74d48

RESOLUTION

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Office 2000 service pack that contains this hotfix.
