This article was previously published under Q257510

SUMMARY

If you change the name of either a Microsoft Mail Connector (MSMC), a shadow connector network, or a post office, by going to the properties of the MSMC connector, the network and post office portion of the MSMC proxy addresses does not change.

MORE INFORMATION

When you change either of these properties on the MSMC connector, you receive the following message:

You must change your MSMail recipient policy to reflect the new Network/Postoffice name. The change will then be replicated to all users in your organization by the Recipient Update Service.

At this point, you must manually edit the default policy in the recipient policies, and then perform a rebuild in the Recipient Update Service.
